A delightful mini department store
Rialto Living
This is a delightful mini department store located on a somewhat hidden side street off Paseo del Borne. Barbara Bergman, a Swede, has built Rialto Living into an entire little universe of hand picked clothes, books, interior design objects, furniture, an art gallery and café. Don't miss the prawn and avocado salad if you need to top up your blood sugar level while shopping.
A place for dog lovers
Palma Dog
A Swedish-owned dog store with organic dog food, dog beds made from hand woven tweed, leather collars and blankets designed by owner Ulf in cooperation with local craft people. The range also includes wine with a dog label, dog paintings and other gifts for dog lovers.
Traditional Mallorcan craftwork
La Pecera
Traditional Mallorcan craftwork is displayed in a contemporary and tasteful way at this excellent interior design store. Large and small items for sale include furniture, cushions, lamps, slippers and other accessories.
Genuine and practical souvenirs
Estilo Sant Feliu
This shop sells cushions, place mats, towels and ceramics, all made in the traditional Mallorcan Llengos pattern, that has been used in homes on the island since time immemorial and which has come back into fashion in recent years. A must for anyone looking for genuine and practical souvenirs.
Basket makers' street
Mimbreria Vidal
The tiny streets around Sa Gerreria used to be Palma’s craft making district. There was a street for every trade and Corderia was the basket makers' street. There are not many traces of this today, except for this fantastic little store, which sells hats, beach bags, lampshades and everything else that can be made of straw. A must if you want to take some traditional, ancient Mallorcan craftwork home with you.
A must for foodies
Mercat de l'Olivar
Palma's main food market is a must for foodies, especially on Saturdays. Here, you'll find the best range of fruit and vegetables, cheeses and other local delicacies in town. The market hall also has several bars where you can order fresh shellfish and a glass of cava.
